About Megh 15

Helping each other can make world better

Megh 15 Jonokollayan Society is a non-profit social organization that started working in 2014 to help underprivileged and slum children with basic needs like education, nutrition, and mental health, and it is registered under the “Society Registration Act”. The organization operates an education center named “Meghschool” with three branches at Gabtoli, Mirpur, and Hemayetpur Savar, where 100 underprivileged and street children receive basic education, life skills, nutritious food, clothing, and mental health supports. The organization also arranges awareness programs with parents and other slum dwellers about education, health and safety, child marriage, and social issues. Students are fed protein-rich foods, such as Eggs, Milk, Fruits, etc., to meet the nutritional deficiency regularly. Regular Health checks, new Clothes for Festivals, Sports events, Book reading activities, etc., are also conducted. Regularly conducts various activities, including awareness meetings for parents, food and medical services for the elderly and children with special needs, and the distribution of winter clothes.

Students of “Meghschool” and the services they received

The students of Meghschool receive the following support from the organization:

  • Supports with education, health, nutritious food and dress. Especially food and dress during Ramadan, Eid, Puja, Pahala Baishakh, and winter.
  • Non-formal education for unschooled and dropout students. The curriculum includes basic numeracy, Bangla, English, moral/value education, environment, health, life skills, rights, and duties. Education experts who consider the NCTB and the needs of the area create the school’s blended curriculum. The curriculum is covered from nursery to grade five. The class is scheduled four days a week, three hours per day.
  • To ensure proper nutrition, students are provided with nutritious foods like eggs, cake, fruits, biscuits, or a cooked lunch every school day.
  • Providing continuous support for disabled children with education, food, medication, supporting equipment (Wheelchair, etc.), social awareness, and social support.
